Wormers For Lice Help!

I have 4 1000lb bred heifers who have lice and was wondering what the best treatment would be for them.

Use one of the pour on insecticides. We use BOSS. You'll have to retreat in a couple of weeks to break the cycle.

What about using Decotomax or Eprinex Ivomec?

I've used Eprinex when needed with good results. Some pour ons will rinse off in heavy rain.

I saw Noromectin at PeaveyMart.. pretty cheap, I'm organic and don't use systemic insecticides though.

Absorbine ultrashield works pretty good but you have to rub it onto where the lice are for it to be effective.

Would like to find Neem oil in large quantities to try too.

If you are going run them into the chute, you might want to spray them with an insecticide. I have just used a regular 1 gallon sprayer. As Dun said, need to treat twice.

Would like to find Neem oil in large quantities to try too.

Ughhh, I can't stand the smell of that stuff. Its very effective with regard to insects etc. but boy does it stink. I've not used it for the control of lice on cattle.

I have used Synergized Permethrin with good results.I wouldn't use a wormer combo unless I needed it and then I prefer injectable :2cents:

We just sprayed our herd with Fly Ban. Always works for us.
