A neighbor tried that, it ran to the back of his 40 and died. When they came looking it was easy to follow the trail of blood back to his yard.....

That's when all the neighbors that are worth being called neighbors come over and turn themselves in for shooting the wolf. A couple of hundred people admitting to the "crime" would put a reality check on that law.
 
Couple hundred neighbors...? Where do you think we live?

If your lucky you may have 1 or 2 neighbors that live on their property....

And they followed the blood trail to his back yard...

In a small town things have a way of not staying secret very long.... ha

I'd like a wolf pelt for my collection of Red, Grey and Arctic fox and coyote pelt. Coyote pelts taken in the winter out of Canada are very thick and nice, looks great on the wall.

Those are really poor quality wolf hides. I was so impressed with the one that only has three feet, priced at just under $900.00.
 
The good hides cost a lot more. The best Idaho pelts are quickly bought up. Best to get wolf tags and go to Idaho and shoot your own.
Many uncollared wolfs are missing action in Oregon. Whole pack have been poisoned. $50,000 dollar reward and no one turns anybody in. Collared wolves found shot at the roadside, no reward collectors.

About neighbors, the west is not crowded like the east and north east
 
It called "Lupucide". A whole pack being poisoned sounds like 1978 Jonestown. Found shot at the roadside, back East
it is referred to as a "drive by shooting".
 
As of last fall, 522 cattle not returned from range since spring of 2003. Two wolf killed cows on the feedgrounds, a bear killed yearling steer and another bear killed calf that we have verified since January 2024. We will have a count on yearlings over next two weeks and we have seen several dry cows that went out with calves. Wish you folks down south would make room for a few thousand grizzlies too.
All guilty parties from this years verified kills are dead.

Substitute sugar is readily available at your supermarket and leaves no proof.
 
If I want to see a grizzly, I am perfectly happy watching a movie called "Night of the Grizzly" or
"King of the Grizzlies" from the safety of my home.
 
I have had a serious problem since I was a little kid. I would try to be brave and hold my ground,
but my legs take off and I got no choice but to go with them.
