Ditto - the beef cattle fIRM worked on my Vista - I actually like it better than XP :compute:c farmer":37e041rw said:I brought a new computer a couple months ago I couldn't find anything but Vista. I don't have any problems with it, I had cattle max software on my old computer that had windows xp and loaded the same program on new computer. no problems

Here's another angle though. If I can get Vista installed on a new computer which is going to last 5 yr, should I not take it versus XP? I'll get upgrades for free, I hope, and if I have XP I'll have to pay for Vista at a later date?
I hate learning new software, but aren't there some $ involved here?
I know just enough about computers to be dangerous to myself.

Why would you have to upgrade? Unless you get some superduper new software, most of it will still run on 95 or 98. That said, I'm looking to upgrade 98SE to 2000. 40 bucks vs 150. Got a new monitor that isn't supported with drivers for 98.

Can you still buy 2000 from Microsoft? I thought it was off the support list. I guess if you are good or have good help you can make that work. I'm all in favor of saving money. $110 is still real money.
