Wonder how NorthWest Angle works.

Likely special consideration. Same as people who live in Fort Frances and works as nurses in long-term care homes in International Falls.

Doesn't sound good for the border businesses. How do I know if I am an essential traveler who can cross?

I figured you had dual citizenship by now. A Canadian fishing license and Minnesota drivers license qualifies you doesn't it? How much longer will you guys have ice south of the border?

My oldest son is an iron worker on a big construction project in Seattle. The general contractor for the job is a Canadian firm. The two superintendents for the job went home to Canada for the weekend. Now they can't come back. For now they are communicating by phone or email. He is not too sure how long this will last until they shut things down.
The one good thing he said is the total lack of traffic. His normal 2 - 4 hour commutes is less than an hour and a half. He said you can put the cruise control on and go the entire 80 miles and never touch the brakes.
One of my friends is a semi truck driver in New York, she says it's AWESOME driving now.. her trips are an hour and a half shorter each way, no traffic whatsoever!

G creek, I wish I could like that pic twice!

Spring ice fishing is great in some ways - - longer days, warmer, and fish are more active. Official ice fishing season on Lake of Woods ends 3/31. Lake access is an issue because ice melts first right along the shore line. Some put down sawdust at the access, others lay a plank to bridge the open area...

Won't be long for lake to open up. Ice never got deep here this year because of all the snow. Look at Superior which didn't freeze at all - wide open all winter.

Just saw Canada is closing borders. Good thing I have walleyes in the freezer.

The prime minister was sporting facial hair. Is that a isolation thing or is he trying to look wise?

A couple of things:

1. He is no longer living with his wife - she left him - reportedly got a big payout and had to sign a paper keeping her quiet.

2. Most here believe he grew the beard because he has joined the "other religious team". I believe that to be true.

3. I am no longer travelling - so I am working at home on the farm. Hate it because I am trapped but at least the pay is coming in. Anyone got a job for an ex-mil guy who would love to do something different?

4. Snow is still here and temps going down to around 5 degrees F tonight

Best to all.

Learning anything from the daily Canadian news conference?

Yup - seems the Canadian ruler is planning to send even more money off shore to assist other countries with their fight against covid-19. Meaning Canadians will go without again.

Airlines are landing fairly regularly in Vancouver - from China. My people tell me that screening simply involves giving the passengers a pamphlet telling them they must go to a home or hotel and isolate themselves. Three flights have arrived in the past two days.

Been using this web site to find the flights: https://www.flightradar24.com/-11.16,-67.28/2

I think someone is getting a back door payment to a trust fund. Time for an audit.

Unemployment is growing rapidly, socialism is taking over and soon the country will be broke.

Taxes for those who are working will be forced to go up.

I wish I was wrong but I think Canada is becoming the northern Venezuela.

Best to all,

L
