when to graze new millet

I just down some millet 3 weeks ago with some bahia seed. The millet is 6 inches high now. At what point is it safe to let the cows in it? Safe for the millet that is. Can't pull it up by the leaves, the stem and leaves part ways.roos stay in. Thx

I don't know how much acreage or how many cows you're talking about, but for a reasonable number of cows on a reasonable acreage it's safe now.

Cow calf pair. 1 acre. Of new planting and 3 acres established, fenced off/ gate between the 2. When open they graze either or. Unless there are differing opinions, ill open them up to it. Thanks for you response!

That's reasonable. I'd put them right on it. Millet is a fast grower. It will become tough and unpalatable if it goes ungrazed very long.
