I drove up yesterday morning and found the Convention Center okay (with a little help from Google maps), but parking was another story. I drove around in circles and finally found a place that would let me park for $15.00. I thought that was kinda high, but didn't know what else to do, so I paid it. That was all fine and good until it got time to leave there and head to the Holiday Inn Express 10 miles away where I had a reservation. That poor lady on my phone was getting pretty frustrated with me, but after making several wrong turns and trying to check in to the wrong hotel I finally got to the right place.

Then this morning I got to thinking that I needed a new plan. I had seen a shuttle van parked in front of the hotel, so I asked the young lady at the reception desk about it. She explained to me that it only goes to the airport and the hospital, and suggested I take a taxi. She even said she could call for me, and when I asked her about what it would cost she said probably less than $20.00. I had been hoping it would be less, but I couldn't face that traffic again, so when I got ready to go I asked her to go ahead and call. I was expecting a yellow cab like I've seen on TV, but a little fellow showed up with a plain white passenger van. I suspect he might be the desk clerk's uncle or something, and he didn't habla englais real well, but that's fine. Anyway, he got me where I needed to go and gave me his business card as I was getting out of the van. Told me to call him when I got ready to go back to the hotel and he'd come get me, and he charged me considerably less than $20.00 for the trip. And he's going to pick me up tomorrow at 7:00am, so it looks like I'm all taken care of. I've always heard that God takes care of fools and drunks, so I've got double coverage.

And no, I didn't get a beer before the meeting, but I sure got some after it was over (which is one more reason I'm glad I didn't have to drive back to the hotel).

Speaking of the wrong hotel..... ........Going up Friday morning we met everyone at the Church to help decorate. Later that afternoon we left to check in and set up at the rehearsal dinner venue. Several months ago we had visited several venues and had a tour of the church. We like the hotel we stayed in then and decided it would be where we reserved a block of rooms for out of town guests. Well Ms Google got us headed in the right direction and all of a sudden she said something to the effect to stay on North I-35W for 4.something miles.....I looked at my wife and said what is she doing that for? The hotel is right their, we are supposed to pass it take the next exit and circle back to it.................................... was really frustrating at the time.....but the wife book the wrong hotel.....    Here it was, Friday afternoon.....I-35....at this time we had no idea where we were going to end up other than Ms Google says we were 14 minutes away from our destination.......When Ms Google tells me my exit is 1/4 mile away I see a big blue Southwest Airline plane come in for a landing....watch the smoke from the tires as I go by and she says turn left and you have arrived at your destination. :???: Wife was in tears and saying "what have I done? What have I done? How could I possibly have made a mistake like this?" Truth be known it was all I could do not to ask the same question and tell her that's what she gets for using a %#%@ cellphone and a call center to do such tasks.
As it turns out, although probably not all that convincing, I did tell her it was going to be okay and it was. The hotel was not a new one like the other, but it was amazingly quiet for being so close to the airport runways. I asked them about an alternate routes to keep off 35 and provided a good one.

Lot of rain fell in Middle Georgia. One of my ponds that's about 7 acres is backed up almost double that.

Friday night lights

She sits a horse good. Looks very comfortable there. I'm sure you're proud of her. She reminds me of my oldest daughter when she was that age or younger. She was very sticky at that age.

Only my conscious is what's keeping me putting hay out. Only half of em are even coming up to eat.

Wow, I'm not sure we even hit the 4 or 5 inches they were calling for. It's muddy but I drove easily across my fields this morning to feed.
