Warts

My daughter's 4-H steer has some warts around his neck. Show time is 6 weeks away... what's the best way to get rid of these? Some people say pull them off with pliers others say cover them in grease.

I had a heifer a few years back that had warts for several months. The vet gave me a vaccine to give her. I got busy and when I finally got around to penning her to give her the shot I noticed all the warts were gone. They went away by themselves. I still have the vaccine in my fridge so I can't say as to whether it works or not.

My past 4-H heifers had warts to i jsut left em on for the show the judge never said anything about them and i placed first a bunch of times.

Cut them off, put them in her feed and feed them to her.

pliars, squeeze em, go back and either pull em off or cut them after that... squeezing the juices back in starts an auto-immunity repsonse. :cboy:

I tied a pice of nylon thread tightly around the wart. It feel off in about 2 weeks. I tried the wart off but that did not affect it. Nylon thread is easy, cheap and cuts off the blood circulation to the wart.

Yeah the nylon thread works too, but does nothing to help prevent new ones from popping up.

I actually got my information from a vet manual, not just heresay. :cboy:
