Although we are turning things over to Jacob I haven't quite let go of the mating decisions. For one he just doesn't have the time to go through and do the planning like I do but the other is I am just not ready to let go that much. The problem is I am having a senior moment and just can't seem to figure out what AI bulls to use this year. I know some of the tried and true that I have in the tank but getting started just seems to be harder this year. So many bulls so many possibilities! We collected our
D45 bull https://www.angus.org/Animal/EpdPedDtl.aspx?aid=FAAAAI6UFVLwSQx1nTI9zI2LQ2NmZGEZqf%2bVHsPYXBPerbbt&time=KgAAANGIgqdMGDLEkIeWNn9MQuaWNxlfVrZz285%2fKBnuUBs%2bajQKm0vXg0CGh0dAhEB1%2fg%3d%3d his first calf crop are really good and I am excited to see how he works in the future so we will use him both AI and natural service.

We also have a Regard son https://www.angus.org/Animal/EpdPedDtl.aspx?aid=FAAAAF%2f7XqkGwvh%2fDtCMMREbN8vFDkmeNnDYkReDVsPMgKLB&time=KgAAANGIgqdMGDLEkIeWNn9MQuZ7ykE7V%2fiJybcmSvS5LL2z58E05LXXS7fA8HIrtQyiWg%3d%3d that we plan to use natural service this year

I know we will be using Rainfall I plan to flush our 0524 donor to him this year, I will also be using some Coleman EXT 6149 however my inventory on this bull is getting low so won't be using him heavy. I am using this bull for flushes, I would like to flush 0524 to him again, I have a three year old daughter out of this mating that is really nice.

I will list some of the bulls I have in the tank see if any of them would be what you would want to use:

Ok I have another page of inventory and after typing all of this I realize the boss is correct I have an addiction and need intervention. Needless to say he has put me on restriction from purchasing more semen (although I did slip in an additional 10 units of Rainfall last week). Like I said I have another page of inventory and I didn't list bulls that are carriers that I just can't throw away like Bon View Bando 598 and Morgans Direction great bulls for sure. Any of you suffering from the same addiction?

I am really tempted to use some of the BT New Trend B192 for you numbers guys he would suck pretty bad but he makes some beautiful productive daughters. I am also thinking I may circle back and use some of the Bon View Emulation EXT 473 on some heifers, we have some really nice heifers that I think he might really compliment and not give up to much in the way of numbers. Another bull that will make some great females but you give up EPD numbers on is Rito 6I6 Of 4B20 6807 the problem I have is using these bulls the EPD's really take a hit.

I am not a Angus breeder but I would lean hard towards SAV Resource and SAV Rainfall.
I got to quite a few angus sales and the Resource calves can be picked out without looking at the catalog. They have that perfect look to me.

We have a good portion of our females that go back to final answer and love them. We are mainly Simmental breeders but have some purebred Angus as well. This year we used a little bit of OCC Missing Link, Sitz Traveler 8180 to get it out of the tank, 40 units of Rainfall, a couple canes of Tehama Tahoe (rep recommended after seeing customer calves. I wasn't sold on him, but we gave him a try), and one cane of JSAR Titan. It is easy to end up with a long tank inventory list with how many good bulls are available!

No wonder you're having trouble deciding! Lots of greats in that lineup for sure. I wish I had that lineup in my tank...would probably like to have your "dirty" list too.

You are light years ahead of me in this game. I have 30 head of fall calvers I AI. I have limited experience with multiple sires. matter of fact, I have used 0 of the ones you listed. Not that I wouldn't want to have them in my tank to play with and see what I could come up with, but all the ones you listed are certainly ones I'd love to have at my fingertips. I pretty much use one bull for the whole herd. I've only used Hoover Dam, 7229, Foresight, Complement. Probably going to keep with HD while I can get AND afford him on my commercial cows. Your list is better suited for someone in a registered herd that can make those genetics and keep them in the gene pool for the future generations. Good luck and I look forward to more of your photos and breeding decisions in the future!

I honestly wasn't trying to put you on the spot, some of the bulls on the list I have absolutely no recollection of why or when they got there. Some I just hang onto waiting for the perfect mating, basically over 30 years of leftovers lol. The EXT, Right Time and Wulff's EXT are bulls that are timeless. The Saughtahachee and Fullback were purchased in hopes of making a show heifer for Jacob keep in mind he is now 38 so it has been awhile, of course I never got a dang heifer just bull calves. Now the granddaughter's are planning to show so maybe 30 years in a tank will change my luck. I sill used Morgan's Direction on commercial Cattle he was excellent low birth weight great carcass and a female maker just NH positive which sucked.
