We had a small producer bring 4 virgin Red Angus heifers to us to A.I. a couple days ago. Today we put cidrs in finding out that 2 of the 4 are missing most of their reproductive tract. After talking with the customer he purchased these through a ring thinking it would be a good experience for his kids to grow up with a few animals. I have to assume the 2 are freemartins and they are headed to the local sale barn at the customers request. I guess the point is don't buy breeding heifers from a sale ring without knowing their history. Spend the extra money and buy from a reputable breeder you will be farther ahead in the long run.

he could have been month's even further in them, if he put them in with a bull. lucky in a sence that he found out before he really had time and money invested in em.

thats the bad thing about buying out of sale barns.you never know if your getting freemartins or breedable heifers.most are to young to see if they are freemartins.
