So, while I had the cows going through the chute to put the heat detection patches on I thought it would be a good idea to put a little fly dope on them. Was careful not to get the fly dope too close to the patch, scared it would cause them not to stick. Well, five minutes later they were all turned. I guess the oil got on their tail then wiped the silver right off them.

Well, another cow will rub off the silver and turn the color to bright orange or green. Its for detection of standing heat. Similar to a scratch off lotto ticket.

Well, the ai tech showed up today and seen the patches. They looked like the cows were trying to ride the hair off each other due to all the silver was "rubbed" off. Had to tell him what happened. :D

All went good, bred six head. Most were riding this morning actually most of the day.
