i feel like we are the tick capital of the world it is so bad here. If there is grass or vegetation over a couple inches there are ticks. I haven’t seen any correlation with any specific plant(s) that they are more abundant. I believe we have about every kind of tick.
I have noticed when we have a drought and vegetation is short we have the least amount of ticks. That’s not real conducive for farming though..
I have no doubt that burning will kill some ticks but it won’t be long and the vegetation will be back, the wildlife will be back, and the ticks will be back. Especially since your neighbors and there neighbors probably didn’t burn and a single female tick will lay thousands of eggs..I think there would have to be widespread frequent burning for any real control.
I’m generally not one that is for eliminating all of any animals or bug but I would certainly rejoice if every single tick was gone and never seen or talked about again.
