Just what are somethings that were once used on the farm but not any more for all sorts of reasons?Will have to refresh my memory.Carbide latern,(bar-d-z-o)not sure how you spell it,butter churn and old harness for a plow horse and a old pull type hay rake still have on our farm.DDT if I am correct, was taken off the market in the 60's?
 
An old turning plow,horse or mule for power.
Singletree and also a doubletree.
horse collar.
Model T-Ford crank.
Just a few of the old stuff here.

I remember those. Do remember those saws used for felling trees that were similar to a lawnmower but had a nasty three foot circular blade on the front of them. I think some called them "widow-makers" but I can't remember its proper name. Pretty sure both of these pieces of equipment were pre-OSHA. :lol:

Horse drawn grain drill
19 Oliver turning plow
McCormick Deering horse drawn mower
Jack shaft for a saw mill , planner and ect.
Two sets of cattle scales (pitt type)
Two old barn with hay mounds and horse pulled hay forks.
Two old houses made from rough sawed lumber.( hand made shingles.)
Old buzz saw (used to cut fire wood)
I have hauled several loads to the salvage.

I have cut a lot of winter firewood with a saw mounted on the front of the tractor and ran from a pully on the side.

One I forgot,still have it hanging somewhere is a corn sheller.You hand crank it.Used it a bunch when I was a kid.Sure would hate to use one of those first lawn mowers,the kind with no motor and a weed wacker.Still got an old cast iron bed frame.

Along with the manual reel mower, remember the manual lawn sheers you used for edging grass? Ruthless on the hands.
