I've got bad news for anybody who is seeing ANY ads on this board other than the two square ads at the top of the page on each side of the Q&A logo. You are infected with a spyware program!

It's easy to get infected and easy to get rid of the spyware. Just download, install and run the free version http://www.lavasoft.com/

There are NO popup ads, video ads or ads with sound on this site. If you are seeing any of these you are infected!

I downloaded the free version. It scanned my computer and said it found 1 item and deleted it. Came right to Cattle Today and still see adds. :???:

The adds did change to try to sell me Norton Antivirus.

They are Google Ads and they change depending on what sites you visit.

Crazy thing is........last week there was an ad I actually wanted to see, I went to click on it and it changed. I haven't seen it since. AND.....goofy me, at this time I don't really remember what it was for :roll: . I must have been really tired.

and they do have sound and when they are playing they do screw up the computer and you can not stop them from playing so you set here and listen to them till they are done then hope another one does not start. I do have protection on my computer and I am not the first to complain about the Russian girl adds I think they are insulting I am not looking for another woman and if I was I would not go to Russia to get her.
The adds playing are not related to any site I have ever visited I am not on here looking for woman ,Lexus cars ,Tide soap and ect.

All I know to tell you is that the two square ads on each side of the logo are Google Adwords ads. And Adword ads are not allowed to have sound and they certainly do not accept ads for Russian brides.

Google ads work off your cookies. They take your computer browsing history and try to put an ad in front of you that might interest you based on that information.

It is not a perfect system, but if you Google search for gas grills, you'll probably see an ad for some place that sells gas grill parts.

I've had that issue a couple of times. They would only just start to play and then disappear. Maybe my defender software stopped them.
They would pop up and play over your normal google ads. Kind of like they were attaching themselves to the google ad to slip past a firewall. I've also had ads start playing were I never could figure out the source, as I usually have numerous tabs open at once. I downloaded both the malware and spyware programs that GB mentioned, and they both detected the same items. Haven't had an issue since then, but I'm sure I will again at some point. IDK, maybe CTs server is under attack by a virus or something.

Those Russian bride things likely pop up as a result of something mentioned on these boards. Its not just private browsing history that will trigger certain ads to show. BCG, I'm thinking if you mention mail order male escorts, or Chippendale dancers often enough, you may see some relevant ads show up :lol:

The only place I would see an advert for a Russian "bride" would be here. I was a little surprised, but since I never stop to look at the ads as I pull the slider down the page, it was a passing insult only.
