A PHD just means you know a whole lot about a very narrow subject. It also means that you had the finances to stay in school. I knew and worked with a number of people with multiple graduate degrees. Some were real sharp. Some couldn't pour it out of a boot if you wrote the instructions on the bottom of the heel. College coarse or degrees don't make you smarter than everyone else.

I wonder how the aaa would feel about being represented by Branded like this. Or anyone associated with president or sav. Maybe they should be made aware. I would want to know I was being represented this way
Whats funny is that if someone does a google search for Branded, all of this will come up in the results. Way to promote brook!

We think alike, I was wondering how sav would feel about the representative they have here.
Or maybe he's just a name dropper......one way to find out.

When you been in the Angus business for 70 years and you've made it all the way up to 50 mama cows, you must be doing something right.

You should have majored in math.

Have you seen the video of this financial genius
Making hay. Rolling out a couple of hundred thousand in equipment to make a couple hundred dollars in hay. Thats what he calls watching the numbers.

There are people questioning every aspect of the American Angus Association, questioning the very foundation of their data models, when these same people, I can almost guarantee, never got past elementary Algebra, can't even post a decent photo on CT, and are probably still using flip phones. When you have taken college-level statistical modeling courses as Ron and I have both done, then come talk to us, and we can have an informed conversation about EPDs. Until then, fly without instruments if you want, and watch out for vertigo.

There should be MBA level courses on this breed and what they have achieved. For those that don't know MBA stands for "Massive Bank Account"

With that said,

While you guys keep second guessing everything about Angus. I will keep pumping them out.

Here is a calf out of Connealy Capitalist. Momma is almost a ton.

Life is great, huh?

BH I'm not sure why you have such disrespect for anyone who has a different view about a subject than you do.Math was one of my best subjects and I did very well. With that said I was always taught to use it along as a tool and to include real life experiences. I was also a mechanical specialist. I learned many times the results you see in the real world varies from what you see in the classroom, lab, ect. That is what many of us have experienced with EPD's. Instead of doing field trials at least some of the associations are using the breeders herds as the proving ground. Meanwhile they provide this inaccurate information to the commercial breeder. Many times it is very misleading. The results we experience have nothing to do with advanced math. In the real world we see the results in assisted births, weaning weights, yearling weights, milk production, ect. And in the end in profit or loss depending on how an animal performed. We don't need a complicated chart or mathematical formula to tell us if something works or is beneficial. We have the real life results.
Sometimes I wonder too, Are there just phenotypes that work in certain areas and others that don't... and the genetics behind it kinda comes out in the wash? For a guy grazing bunchgrass, smaller, lighter cows is going to be what works, maybe you can sway weaning weights a little with better genetics, or have a bit better marketability, but the environment is going to dictate how big a calf will grow there... As you get richer food you can increase cow size and milking ability without them coming up open too often, though I think you have to pay closer attention to what's efficient at that point.

If you haven't notice he only responds to threads which don't require truth, or facts to back up his response, just an opinion. Which he tries to sell.
I don't know who he's trying to sell to since he said you shouldn't deal with members on CT.

very true. It's worth noting that because a person can do something/say something doesn't always mean they should. Brooks a fine example of that

What he does or says does not affect me in the least nor will I allow it to bother me.

it shouldn't bother anyone really. Its very telling of his character though. Its also brought out parts of others character :cowboy:

Not unlike your unhealthy fixation with a member out of Virginia a few years ago that resulted in your being banned.

Speaking of conspiracies... has anyone ever gotten an answer out of James Doran about what he did prior to moving back in with his parents? Just wondering what that economics class or whatever he was discussing, got him into? What's his profession? Car salesmen? He sure does like to talk about Ferrari's and Pintos.
