wanting to find out the good and bad about sudangrass and how some of you that has raised it liked it.

Cousin planted some a few years ago. Grew like weeds and cows couldn't keep up with it. He used sorgham sudan mix. He had to mow it once but hasn't grown any more.

We have used it for pasture, hay, and silage. The potential for problems with prussic acid is the major drawback with it. http://web1.msue.msu.edu/fis/extension_ ... orghum.htm
Next year for a silage crop we are going to switch to millet and may try some soybeans in with it.

Raised some this year for hay, takes forever to cure. A moco or discbine would be nice if you did much of it.
