Springtime + new heifers

Odd year so far: we have about 80% heifers thus far in our calving season!

The redbuds are blooming around here now; I hope that means no more
freeze nights(the potatoes are coming up!)

I dont hate you as my ryegrass and fescue have taken off like a rocket ship. It is amazing what rain and fertilizer can do for ya. Nice looking murray gray calves. I especially like that heifer on the left. ;-)

I like her too. She's out of a first calf heifer, sired by a son of Michaelong
Grasshopper. Bwt of about 65lbs as I recall(not having my records here at
the office).

OK watching those calves for a little while makes you forget all the effort that goes into this. Nice looking group.

OK Jeanne - calves look great & house is BEAUTIFUL. I sure miss the Redbud Trees. We had a lot of them growing wild all over our farm in Kansas. Sure was a sign of spring.
My calves all look like little mudballs :shock: We wollowed around in the mud all morning getting everyone fed hay - what a mess!
I don't hate you - but I'm close to it!!!
