If I see a six foot snake around here, you guys out west might hear what sounds like a little girl squel.

There is an area not far from the house that has sugar sand and dwarf oak trees on it. Land is poor as it can be but the turtles love it. There is a healthy population of indigo snakes there too. Once I walked up on one that was every bit of 10 foot in lenght. Knowing he wasn't posionous I decided to catch him and carry him to the house to show the kids. I grabbed his tail a few times trying to get up the nerve to really get a hold of him - cause they still will bite. Anyhow, the last time I grabbed his tail he decided he had had enough and turned around. He raised his head off the ground at least three feet and looked at me and HiSSSED. I understood and tucked my tail between my legs and went home.
