We finally have gotten a little bit of rain over the past few days. We were worried that we would have to start feeding hay by the end of the month. The grasshoppers have been terrible this year, stripping 15-20 foot tall pecan trees of their leaves and demolishing our grass. They have really done a number on our top land and one of our river bottoms. The other river bottom, where the steers are, hasn't been impacted yet. These are some steers that we will be taking to the processor in the next handful of weeks.

And these photos show some of the bulls running with our steer group.
This is our 3 year old, OK Boss II, and the 2 year old, BB Inkitobah. Since we have pulled the bulls off of the cows, we will be putting these two up for sale soon.

And this is BB Backbone's Dominion. He is a 14 month old son of BB Uncle Tony. We will be using him over some heifers this fall and cows next spring. He is a maternal half brother to OK Boss II, the dark bull above.

Lazy M- I believe that that particular plant is a type of ragweed. I will double check tomorrow to be sure.

Frieghttrain- We are deciding to sell these two bulls because we feel that they would be better used in another breeder's herd. We have some very good young bulls coming on from this year's calf crop, and these two bulls will not be used as much as they should be over the next few years if they stayed on our place. These are two young bulls from 2018 that are currently at the top of the list for our next two herd bulls.
