I'm lucky enough to live near the Texas A&M beef cattle research center. Every week on my way to church, I get to drive past this pasture with probably 50 bulls in it, all kinds, shapes and breeds. Today I decided to pull over and take a few pics. You can see our grass is just getting going down here.

It's hard to not like the Brahmans.

Calves from that first bull will take a hit if they show that kind of color. When I was experimenting with Belgian Blue back in the eighties I had a beautiful pair of calves, each from Limo mothers. One was red and the other marked like a Holstein. Both calves below the skin could have been twins. Super calves that made anything today look anemic. But the red one sold much higher than the black and white one. Somebody got a good deal.
