Scratch and smell

Help Support CattleToday:

Rain
Horses
Leather (Explains the saddles in my room) :)
Freshly cut hay
The smells of the fair (the animals)

Wouldn't want it as scratch and sniff but
Sweat ( :frowns: can't belive that I admited that) not a real nasty sweat but a light manly scent.

Great question, makes me think (without it hurting :D )

1. Smell of an infant grand child
2. A horse barn with tack
3. Freshly mowed green lawn
4. Coffee on a crisp, cold morning
5. The smell of my wife early in the morning while still in bed next to me. (don't be rude)
6. Recently baled hay in the barn
7. Freshed baked apple pie

Great question,
Alan

If you ever watch movies, "Scent of a Woman" with Dustin Hoffman is great.
One of my all time favorites! Only I like the one with Al Pacino in it. ;-)

I would have to agree on fresh hay in the hay barn.
New cut clover hay.
Raw, warm milk in the bulk tank.
Sheets and bedding right off the line.
Lilacs ~ the first flower of summer.
BenGay ~ it reminds me of my maternal grandmother.

They all look the same to me.

backhoeboogie, sounds like an older gentleman I talked to near Robert Lee in west Texas in 2006. He was in his 80's and said he had seen it rain once but would like for his kids and grandkids to see it sometime.

the claves when we just get them and they come off the trailer at home.
saddles
that smell after rain
leather
pink oil, zoom bloom, and revive.

Fresh hay, silage (yeah, I know, weird), pie baking (or anything else delicious), boyfriend....the list could go on and on, basically anything that evokes memories of good times :D :D

I'm with ya on the silage. When I was a kid I had to eat in the porch half the time cuz I used to go lay in the silage.
ohhhh mercy...that just does not sound right at all 3-Way. :lol2:

To be honest smellin good was not a high priority for me until I started gettin serious about girls. If you noticed probably one of my favorite smells is ELK, I will still lay down and roll in a fresh ELK bed if I get the chance it sure beats pouring pi$$ on your boots for scent cover. Unfortunately that ends up gettin me back to eating my meals on the porch for a while as the missus in not nearly as fond of the smell of ELK as I am.

Lets hear it for 3waycross.. I think he deserves the Scratch and Smell trophy for this post!!

Grand chaser, you are right. I love the smell of revive and final bloom.

And the smell when I walk into the cattle sheds/barns at the show after not showing for a while, it just feels like I've come home.

I like the smell of wrapped silage but not pit silage.

I like the smell of silage no matter how its done. I do not like the smell of haylage even a little bit though!

Keren you said 5 things, You have already named about a 100. Do you get extra just because you originated the thread?

I tell my friends,if your daughter goes in a well kept barn and says phooy,it stinks in here--let her take rideing lessions, she'll soon find boys-----however,if she takes a deep breath and says ooooh,it smells good in here---buy a pickup, horsetrailer, take on a second job and learn to be a groom....
