Well a buddy texted me that top bull today went for $725,000. Some like the program, others don't. Just like Ford vs. Chevy. Ive went once. I was impressed, yet Ive heard (word of mouth....accuracy?) that he has a lot of credit to pay out. What would be really interesting is how much the average is that he gets to put in the bank!

read Herbster bought the first 2 for 235 and 750,000. Hefiers bringing from 17 to 35,000

Ya, I haven't quite figured that guy out yet. I went up there in 2013. I think it was the first year of Harvestor sons to sell, which Herbster owns Harvestor. He bought the top selling bull up there, sired by Harvestor! Kinda wondered if that was a I scratch your back type of thing.

Herbster basicly bank rolled one of Nebraska's gubernatorial canadates. He didn't come close in the end, but ran lots and lots of comercials. I think everybody figured out who was paying for the adds, and he lost he early momentum. What Herbsters angle was on that IDK.

Id think Amo is about right with the 85%. Off another site, sale total.
$11,614,000 pretty good. Top female was 55,000 a Harvestor daughter, females averaged 13,000.

Any idea what they averaged if you take the top end out , maybe the 10%, the $725,000 bulls and such?

Take the top 4 bulls out and they still averaged $15,800. If you took everything 100k+ out I would guess the average still around 13-14

Heifers averaged 13

Wasn't their top seller 475000 last year or '13. No end in sight

Two years ago International sold to Herbster for 400,000. Last year the high seller was a Ten X son who sold to Genex and partners for I believe 285,000 but I don't remember exactly.

I have often wondered if there isn't some kick-back to herbster just to inflate the value of the bulls to sell more semen.
