Roy Carter was a professional bull rider back in the early 70's. Back then, guys scoured the East Texas, Gulf Coast and south Louisiana sale barns looking for crossbred bulls that might buck. As we bred gentler cattle for our ease of handling, the good bucking stock was harder to find. Roy saw need to produce bucking cattle for the rodeo industry. If cattle can be selected for weaning weight, yearling weight, imf, etc, then it made sense to breed for the ability to buck or fight.
