Thought this had been discussed but could not find it so here goes. Is a retained placenta more common when the cow has twins. I had one calve Friday with twins and she has not cleaned yet. First twins I have had in years and also the first retained placenta.
Oh yes, one heifer(dead) and one bull(now a steer, alive).

Yes, it is more common, and one of the reasons many people hate twins.

For me it;s just one of several!
Chalk me up in that category as well. I had a cow with twins this spring. The bull died, heifer barely survived. The cow didn't clean and got a uterine infection which led to an LDA which led to me spending $300 to get her fixed up and I've got nothing to show for it except a likely freemartin and a struggling cow. Love twins.
