ranch wedding ideas??

My Son and his soon to be bride next spring have decided they want to go the route of a rustic ranch wedding. We have some nice Oak trees in one area I believe that will be the spot for it. We are looking for off the wall ideas for decorations and for function and design. I believe we are using hay bales for seating and just bouncing ideas off each other. So if you have done, seen or know of anything that might fit, please post it up.

Would look beautiful with a few strands hung up in those oak trees! We have some of the vintage-looking ones hanging from the high beams in our log home. Put them up for Christmas 2 years ago and liked them so well, we've kept them up! (they are clear, not colored or "Christmassy")

I had to cut and stain about 30 slices of a tree limb for my daughters wedding, They glued fake pumpkins to them and I had to make a bouquet of fall flowers to go in each one. A big PIA ,

Best wedding I ever went to was held in a pasture. Everyone dressed casual and blue jeans were fine. Preacher wore jeans. After the ceremony they told us to help ourselves to beer in the water troughs and BBQ. Bride and groom stayed with us all night as people picked and played bluegrass and country well into the wee hours of the morning. The couple left the next day for their honeymoon. The money they saved on the wedding they put toward a down payment on their new home.

Maybe not for everyone but I sure thought it was great.
