This is our only purebred bull calf out of registered parents this year. We are likely going to take a turn back to black bulls for a while and will likely make a steer out of him although could use him on some black cows.

He looks the part at this point. How old is he? Surely he would make a good bull for neighbors with black cows..

I honestly dont know why more people dont at least have a few herefords. The few I have I really like.

I'd wait until after weaning before you decide to steer him and see how he does. Either keep him yourself to breed to a few black cows next year or sell him to someone else that wants to bred some baldies. There is usually a market for a good Hereford bull.
