POLL: Why Do You Have Cattle

Thanks to all that responded! I was Glad to see no one chose the Land Tax Advantage.I've known a few people that had Cattle, strictly for that reason.They were in another State that had a property assesor that wanted to see cattle for basing a Greenbelt or Agricultural status to keep their taxes at a minimum.

As for me, They're in my Blood,supplement my regular Job.Could'nt imagine not being in the business.Bring me enjoyment after a long day at work.It's like having a mini-vacation watching them and checking them everyday.

Need someplace for my out job's $$ to go....oh yeah they taste great!
But these days my doc says to lay off the red meat...

My starting to like cattle started at 5 months old when my Mom
and Dad put me by the calf pens while they milked I would play with
them till I fell asleep. Then I met my husband 29 yrs ago and if
it had`nt been for me their would`nt be any cattle on this farm today.
We started out with 50 and now have 5 left out of 271 to calf this yr.
So I would say my hobby is in my blood. (We also farm.)
