Political Debate?

Is political debate allowed on these forums? The reason I ask is that lately I am getting more and more into trying to keep up with political events, and I love to debate with people on politics. I figured Id ask since I havent seen any politics on the boards so I thought it might be banned. Just thought Id ask, thought it could be fun to have a little FRIENDLY debate around here.
