Good morning yall. I was reading a post about whether to cut or band or ? PINCH? some body tell me where i can find the tools for the Pinch? I would like to find a way to relieve the FLY PROBLEM. When they are cut or banded...

Eastern Oregon ( or at least the part i live in) has a massive fly population starting in may and going until after the first frost. then any day it is above 60' f they are back!!! so the Pinch  sounds intriguing, see this years crop at http://www.funyfarm.org

Thanks in advance

We calf early starting most of the time in January and we band two to three days after birth. That early in the year there won't be any bugs for a long time and it reduces swelling. We have never had any problems banding that early and have yet to have a band break or having to cut or pinch before sale.

:D
I have to thank all you guys I was under the impresion that it was unwise to cut till the calf had grown awhile.. it appears that the old dude was incorrect.. so itr is the rubberbands at birth from now on! I do have to adm,it i do like the way it makes em look , but the buyers are of a different mind ;)

Couldn't find the device on the site Texas PawPaw posted, but I found this site:

Apparently it's pretty good for making ravioli too!

 That's pretty good, Doc.

I have a burdizzo and tried to use it many years ago but about one in ten didn't take so I went back to the old tried and true method of cuttin'. That works every time.
