The "haves" will continue to have everything. The "have nots" will get everything for free, and the "hardly have enough's " will pay for it all.

Charles Krauthammer says Roberts tossed it back to the people, to strengthen the Court's reputation for neutrality. I'm good with that. Let's have an election.
We had an election. See what it got us.

hopefully some of the 20% of the voters who are the swing voters between the right and the left have learned a little something in the last three years.

The 2010 election made progress....we need for America to continue the progress in 2012....

without that hope....I am not sure I could force myself to get up in the mornings.

I'm afraid Obama Care is here to stay. I may be the lone voice on this but I think the Republicans are dancing in the halls because of this passage since this will give them a stronger foothold to get elected. They will not repeal this law at all. Their signs are already showing to repeal and replace. What is it that they have to replace if it is repealed? No. I see this as a power grab showing just how much power the federal government can have over the people and the states. Both parties have a lust for this type power. We've lost this country but it was lost over 100 years ago at the battle of Gettysburg in that little war concerning state's rights. I hope I'm wrong but I foresee the republicans taking the white house this fall and then I see them shoring up better deals for the insurance companies and the big pharmaceutical companies that keep them in office. This way we will take it from both ends. You know the american way. :cry2:
You are not the lone voice, there are at least two of us.
Yes, country was lost over 100 years ago. Any part that was left with life in it was killed off in 1964.
As to upcoming election we certainly have a choice-B.Obama or Obamalite. :bang:

I don't get around like I use to so run in a fairly small circle but I personally know of 9 good friends and relatives who voted for the "annointed one" in 2008 and already say they WILL NOT vote for him this time around. WE can help change some minds. Of course you'll always have the "brain dead" which are a waste of time.

welll in additon to the brain dead there are those he has bought and paid for which is a significant number....

but I have hope until the election.

Why Chief Justice Roberts Made the Right Long-Term Decision With ObamaCare
Bert Atkinson Jr. June 28, 2012 3:59 pm

Before you look to do harm to Chief Justice Roberts or his family, it's important that you think carefully about the meaning – the true nature — of his ruling on Obama-care. The Left will shout that they won, that Obama-care was upheld and all the rest. Let them.

It will be a short-lived celebration.

Here's what really occurred — payback. Yes, payback for Obama's numerous, ill-advised and childish insults directed toward SCOTUS.

Chief Justice Roberts actually ruled the mandate, relative to the commerce clause, was unconstitutional. That's how the Democrats got Obama-care going in the first place. This is critical. His ruling means Congress can't compel American citizens to purchase anything. Ever. The notion is now officially and forever, unconstitutional. As it should be.

Next, he stated that, because Congress doesn't have the ability to mandate, it must, to fund Obama-care, rely on its power to tax. Therefore, the mechanism that funds Obama-care is a tax. This is also critical. Recall back during the initial Obama-care battles, the Democrats called it a penalty, Republicans called it a tax. Democrats consistently soft sold it as a penalty. It went to vote as a penalty. Obama declared endlessly, that it was not a tax, it was a penalty. But when the Democrats argued in front of the Supreme Court, they said 'hey, a penalty or a tax, either way'. So, Roberts gave them a tax. It is now the official law of the land — beyond word-play and silly shenanigans. Obama-care is funded by tax dollars. Democrats now must defend a tax increase to justify the Obama-care law.

Finally, he struck down as unconstitutional, the Obama-care idea that the federal government can bully states into complying by yanking their existing medicaid funding. Liberals, through Obama-care, basically said to the states — 'comply with Obama-care or we will stop existing funding.' Roberts ruled that is a no-no. If a state takes the money, fine, the Feds can tell the state how to run a program, but if the state refuses money, the federal government can't penalize the state by yanking other funding. Therefore, a state can decline to participate in Obama-care without penalty. This is obviously a serious problem. Are we going to have 10, 12, 25 states not participating in "national" health-care? Suddenly, it's not national, is it?

Ultimately, Roberts supported states rights by limiting the federal government's coercive abilities. He ruled that the government can not force the people to purchase products or services under the commerce clause and he forced liberals to have to come clean and admit that Obama-care is funded by tax increases.

Although he didn't guarantee Romney a win, he certainly did more than his part and should be applauded.

And he did this without creating a civil war or having bricks thrown threw his windshield. Oh, and he'll be home in time for dinner.

Brilliant.

MSN has been running a national poll the last 24 hours on its home page, if the supreme court made the right decision, so far 500,000 people have voted , the results 60% no 32% yes 8% dont know. Why are our leaders going against public opinon?

Yes but those are friends in TEXAS. A state that is already in the bag for its electoral votes for Romney. The amazing thing is when you travel to cities in California, and the North East. I have been in NYC, Boston, San Fran, Sandiego, Philidelphia, and numerous others over the past two years and you would think that the true messiah had arrived. Families walking down the street all dressed in matching Obama t-shirts, posters, hats, pins, and paintings for sale on the street corners. It's sickening how brainwashed these people are. The election will come down to 4-5 states. Virginia, New Mexico, Colorado, Ohio and Nevada.

I hear ha isom...all dressed up and nowhere to go but still waiting on their free shyt. Do you really think those kinds are going to buy insurance OR pay a tax?? He!! no. As the dude on the TV interview said the other day "I just want a f'ing check".

Here the the mighty Blue state or Oregon I'm not finding much support for Obama in 12, of the few Libs I know and talk politics with non are voting Obama in 12, remember I know just a few. The four major cities in Oregon is what make it a lib state, if we can just get the east side of the state to get out and show a high percentage of the population voting it could change back to a republican state.

I'm curious to see he Obama does with the black vote this time compared to 08.

It is with Great personal sorrow and regret that I find and admit the truth of the fact that my beloved Virginia is on that list..

The number of carpetbagger yankees in the occupied territory of Northern Virginia is burdensome in the extreme. The port cities of Virginia Beach, Hampton and Newport News also seem to support the liberal mindset. They continually elect Bobby Scott to congress and he has an IQ that is well short of that of a good deer hound. Unfortuantely he fits right in with too many in congress.

But alas a former solidly conservative state has been added to the list of battleground states. We are also key because we have two former governors running for the seat of Dem Senator Jim Webb who is giving up after one term. I must confess that after Webb announced his relinquisment of the seat and no longer had to bow to party pressure he has been a much better senator.

Our Senate candidates are former governor Tim Kaine who is an engaging and personable sleaze bag and a died in the wool Obamaite and the current hand picked chariman of the Democratic Party, a post he won for his unrelenting support of his majesty in the last election.

His challenger is former govenor and former sennator George Allen...George is a good man but he is palgued with foot in mouth disease and is far from an inspiring speaker. I actually voted for his opponent in the Rep Primary but he would far more represent my views than Kaine who is all in for Obama and is a career Political hack with great aspirations. So We are a state that can have an influence on the sennate as well as the white house this year. In my precinct the poll lines will be long and they will be conservative but we are a small precinct.

I wonder if he'll give it to us if we vote for him this time. I need that data plan and it needs to be on the 4G network.

If I were the annointed one for just three months I'd fix things. First, I'd pass a mandate that anyone showing one inkling of desire to be a politician would be banned for life from serving in the public sector. Heck, if I could get that passed then I think the rest would sort itself out.

When my brother first ran for office and got elected he told me that if I ever got the urge to run for public office to call him so he could talk me out of it.

Don't think I could do it. Would probably assassinated my first two months in office cause I wouldn't be telling people what they wanted to hear just what they needed to hear.

Wondering how the "anointed one" will do in the coming election reminded me of this e-mail I got the other day. I hope he's right!!!

Wayne Allyn Root
June 15, 2012
Most political predictions are made by biased pollsters, pundits, or prognosticators who are either rooting for Republicans or Democrats. I am neither. I am a former Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee, and a well-known Vegas oddsmaker with one of the most accurate records of predicting political races.

But as an oddsmaker with a pretty remarkable track record of picking political races, I play no favorites. I simply use common sense to call them as I see them. Back in late December I released my New Years Predictions. I predicted back then- before a single GOP primary had been held, with Romney trailing for months to almost every GOP competitor from Rick Perry to Herman Cain to Newt- that Romney would easily rout his competition to win the GOP nomination by a landslide. I also predicted that the Presidential race between Obama and Romney would be very close until election day. But that on election day Romney would win by a landslide similar to Reagan-Carter in 1980.

Understanding history, today I am even more convinced of a resounding Romney victory. 32 years ago at this moment in time, Reagan was losing by 9 points to Carter. Romney is right now running even in polls. So why do most pollsters give Obama the edge?

First, most pollsters are missing one ingredient- common sense. Here is my gut instinct. Not one American who voted for McCain 4 years ago will switch to Obama. Not one in all the land. But many millions of people who voted for an unknown Obama 4 years ago are angry, disillusioned, turned off, or scared about the future. Voters know Obama now- and that is a bad harbinger.

Now to an analysis of the voting blocks that matter in U.S. politics:
*Black voters. Obama has nowhere to go but down among this group. His endorsement of gay marriage has alienated many black church-going Christians. He may get 88% of their vote instead of the 96% he got in 2008. This is not good news for Obama.

*Hispanic voters. Obama has nowhere to go but down among this group. If Romney picks Rubio as his VP running-mate the GOP may pick up an extra 10% to 15% of Hispanic voters (plus lock down Florida). This is not good news for Obama.

*Jewish voters. Obama has been weak in his support of Israel. Many Jewish voters and big donors are angry and disappointed. I predict Obama's Jewish support drops from 78% in 2008 to the low 60's. This is not good news for Obama.

*Youth voters. Obama's biggest and most enthusiastic believers from 4 years ago have graduated into a job market from hell. Young people are disillusioned, frightened, and broke- a bad combination. The enthusiasm is long gone. Turnout will be much lower among young voters, as will actual voting percentages. This not good news for Obama.

*Catholic voters. Obama won a majority of Catholics in 2008. That won't happen again. Out of desperation to please women, Obama went to war with the Catholic Church over contraception. Now he is being sued by the Catholic Church. Majority lost. This is not good news for Obama.

*Small Business owners. Because I ran for Vice President last time around, and I'm a small businessman myself, I know literally thousands of small business owners. At least 40% of them in my circle of friends, fans and supporters voted for Obama 4 years ago to "give someone different a chance." I warned them that he would pursue a war on capitalism and demonize anyone who owned a business...that he'd support unions over the private sector in a big way...that he'd overwhelm the economy with spending and debt. My friends didn't listen. Four years later, I can't find one person in my circle of small business owner friends voting for Obama. Not one. This is not good news for Obama.

*Blue collar working class whites. Do I need to say a thing? White working class voters are about as happy with Obama as Boston Red Sox fans feel about the New York Yankees. This is not good news for Obama.

*Suburban moms. The issue isn't contraception…it's having a job to pay for contraception. Obama's economy frightens these moms. They are worried about putting food on the table. They fear for their children's future. This is not good news for Obama.

*Military Veterans. McCain won this group by 10 points. Romney is winning by 24 points. The more our military vets got to see of Obama, the more they disliked him. This is not good news for Obama.
Add it up. Is there one major group where Obama has gained since 2008? Will anyone in America wake up on election day saying "I didn't vote for Obama 4 years ago. But he's done such a fantastic job, I can't wait to vote for him today." Does anyone feel that a vote for Obama makes their job more secure?
Forget the polls. My gut instincts as a Vegas oddsmaker and common sense small businessman tell me this will be a historic landslide and a world-class repudiation of Obama's radical and risky socialist agenda. It's Reagan-Carter all over again.

But I'll give Obama credit for one thing- he is living proof that familiarity breeds contempt.

While I agree it's a tax, the reports are the tax for declining will be taken out of your tax refund, easy don't get a refund. With that said they (we) still have to pay for ...... More taxes.

It's here for now my biggest questions are what will it cost to cover my wife and myself? We are paying a little over $800 per month now and is it for general health care or just the big stuff? Google is little help with all the action this morning, my wife said that twitter crashed this morning .... The Internet is hopping this morning.

Unfortunately Alan, you won't know how much more it will cost you until your premiums start to rise. Though that will be soon enough. It will hit people like my husband and I hard. We don't carry health ins. It would cost us about $7500 / yr to buy a pretty basic plan (current prices), with still significant out of pocket for RX & other stuff before reaching deduct. limits. We spend less than $1000/yr, incl RX, by simply paying for health care ourselves. So, thanks to the Obamacare, I figure (very conservatively) it will cost us at least an additional $2000, to continue to NOT have insurance.

Dun, I would say it's more like "Welcome to the Fascist States of America".......
and I don't use that term lightly, I'm only calling it the way I see it

the good news for you though is that since your state voted for him he is hightailing it out there to put out the fires.....

Unlike Texas and Virginia where the emperors minions denied us repeatedly evenFEMA disater declaration in spite of record setting natural disasters we have had.....

I do hope he gets your fires put out today as he will no doubt promise....but he is a low down, coniving, no account, lying, thieving, community organizer who is president only for his supporters....the rest of us must simply cling to our guns and our bibles since he is trying mightily to trample and trash the constitution.

An interesting article by Charles Krautheimer points out that Chief Justice Roberts has actually done the nation some favors....
Limiting the use of the commerce clause.....defining Obama care as a tax....this is important because now all that is needed to repeal is a simple majority not a super majority. And the limiting of compelling states to participate in the expansion of Medicade....

Krautheimer is wrong about the commerce clause as it turns out. Roberts when speaking about the CC was not including that in the opinion, it is just dicta, editorializing and as such will bear not upon future cases as they may relate to the CC. The decision to "make it the law" by Roberts in no way is "thrusting back upon the voters" as Obamacare is now the law of the land! Someone please tell me the last piece of massive legislation that was repealed? Well he!! lets just repeal the federal income tax while were at it! And even if it is repealed where do you suppose it will end up at the end of court challenges? This is bad on so many levels it is hard to comprehend.
