Depends on type of forage as well as whether or not you are continually improving your pastures (i.e., fertilizing, irrigating, etc.), what part of the country you are in, and all. If you're in Southwestern Texas (semi-desert), you might need 50 to 100 acres to support one 1000# animal unit. More lush areas you might effectively graze one animal unit on one acre or less. Also, if you have two or more sub-pastures that you can do rotational grazing on, this would help tremendously on pasture re-growth.
