New bull, lease or buy?

Help Support CattleToday:

Thanks, my last rented bull was from Deer Valley.
I'm trying to cover 50 cows. I do have a little Brangus bull right now but he can't cover the herd.
I guess I would start by looking at averages from their last sale or two for a price baseline. There's so many variables when it comes to a fair price on a bull, its hard to start anywhere but sale records, be it a fancy farm or local sale barn....

Yes, it pays to work with a well-known professional in the bull leasing business. I'm lucky to have found guy just a little over 80 miles away who leases quite a few bulls. He meets me at the vet (which is even closer) an has bulls tested for me, so I just back up at the vet's and load up. Very nicely mannered Angus bulls, usually 2-3 years old.
