I recently acquired a new balancer bull, a grandson of gelbvieh bull 150-D. He will be 1 year old in November. At what point would I be able to reasonable use him on 4-5 heifers without causing growth hinderance. :D

General rule of thumb is one cow or heifer per month of age on the bull. I will not guarentee a bull a breeder (even with bse exam) if he is put with cattle before 15 months.
I have no idea about a balancer or if they mature faster.
Hand bred to one or two at say 13 or 14 months has been done here with no problems.

We had a bull in the pasture who started breeding at 14 months old he bred 80-100 cows that year and was still growing and sold comm calves off the farm for $800 a heifer calves and $1000 for steer calves. He now has about 600 calves on the growned and he is only 4.

I find that hard to believe.

So with this new balancer bull of mine, I have adequate pasture (50 % bermuda 50% fescue), should I supplement him with extra feed to push his growth, or let nature take its course.

I do not have a picture yet, I will try to get one if I can come up with a digital camera. The link below is a link to his current EPD Information on the gelbvieh website. Any comments about his numbers would be great. I am new to the cattle industry and would appreciate any comments on my bull, positive or constructive (negative). Thanks.

I'd wait til he's at least 15 months old and then only use him on a few heifers. He's still got some maturing to do even though they can actually breed at 11-12 months old.

Do the math, he is 4 and started breeding at 1 = 3 years.
600 calves on the ground for 3 years = 200 cows per year.
If he only bred 100 cows the first year, he would have to breed 250 each of the other two years.

250 cows in a year?

I would say that this is impossible! No, I will go farther, I will say that this is a damn lie!
