We are in a selinieum deficient area. The cows receive a granular mineral with selineum but I'm considering also giving the bred cows a Mu-Se injection. Do any of you inject the cows with Mu-Se?

We are in a real poor spot and also run on irrigated pasture so we give the bred cows and bred heifers a shot in the fall.

We used to give our cows a Mu-Se shot prior to breeding at work-up time, in the fall, and prior to calving. The Mu-Se shot is excellent BUT it is only good for 30 days.
We were fortunate enough to have our cows tested for a research project. We ended up having to TRIPLE our dose of SE in our mineral program to get the cows where they need to be.
The shot will not HURT them by any means, but try to time it as close to calving as possible remembering it is only good for 30 days.

We are also in a badly deficient area. We give our cows Mu-Se 30 days prior to calving, and we also give it during the second trimester. Our calves also get Bo-Se at birth.

We too give Mu-Se or Multimin about 15-30 days prior to calving. We've noticed a real decrease in the incidence of retained placentas since giving Multimin, FWIW.
