Who has a good way to mix your own feed economically??? Anyone ever use a cement mixer??
Any other ideas??? I have a ration and it is hard to get it mixed consistantly (mainly leave out the molasses about every other trip). I have also seen the mixing boxes that you can make....do these work??
Not sure I can save any money mixing my own but, I can mix smaller batches than buying a ton at a time.

Thanks

I use a small cement mixer, but it is a constant battle to get it mixed consistantly. I usually have to mix it a bit with a shovel after it comes out of the mixer. It also depends on the sizes of the grains you are mixing. Similiar size & weight grains mix more evenly. The mixer does help a lot & saves my back significantly, but the one I have only mixes 50# at a time so it takes a while to make up a batch to get me through a week or so.
