i raised a heifer for my nieces this yrs,they wwanted to butcher her this jan, so she has been on full feed for 90 days. The little girl got out and got with a bull got breed and then the nieces decided they dint want to butcher a preg cow, only few days breed. MY queistion is i have turn her out with herd now for 3 week and the girls have changed there mind about butchering her do i need to pen her back up and feed for longer or just take her to slaughter she is still really good shape

If they are sure this is what they want I would make the appointment at the processors and have her there at the appointed time. :shock:

If you waited untill she calved then they would already have another calf to feed out for their next beef. But , then you would probably have an effect on her meat? Just a thought.
