Correct me if I am wrong- but I have read the average dressing % on cull cattle
on the low yeilding cattle the dressing % is around 40% so
lets say the cow weighs 1000lb- at the stockyard you will get $350- salefee $15(?) Total $335
On the rail at .75 x 400lb hanging weight Total $ 300
On the high yeilding cattle dressing is around 50% -60% so.............
at the stockyard you would get around $ 560 less salefee $ 545
On the rail .75x 500lb hanging weight Total $375
or .75x600lb hanging weight Total $450
$.75 a lb hanging weight doesn't sound too good.
