Turn key and nothing! New battery, can start by shorting across starter but nothing with key. Is there a hidden fuse somewhere? help please!!

where is the safety switch? always only needed it in neutral.

I am sure you must have it figured out by now sInce it has been a few days since the initial post. My 6525 has the pto located to the left side of the seat and if it gets bumped it will not start. Absolutely nothing, just like if you try to start it when it is not in neutral.
