What I am adding is: Organic Iodine 40 - the guaranteed analysis is 9.2% ethylenediamine diydriodide.

The tag says to mix at 1 pound per 1000 pounds of mineral - but I read somewhere to mix at a rate of 1 to 1-1/2 pounds per 100. Now you have me questioning what I am doing; what would you advise?

By the way, it did seem to take care of my hoofrot problems which is why I started adding iodine in the first place. But of course that could be because of enviromental factors too.

That definitely should have helped the foot rot. Mixing 1 lb. of the 9.2% EDDI would have given you a concentration of 46 ppm when mixed in a one ton batch....mixing it in 100 lbs. would give you 920 ppm which is about double what most mineral will contain and they are only fed at a rate of .25 lb. per head per day. I'd definitely back way off.Any commercial feed should contain both iodine and selenium so please don't even think adding selenium. Just make a good free choice mineral available at all times.
