Let the fight begin!

One time when dad worked at Warren Livestock the cook made hominy for breakfast; that cook is lucky he didn't get shot that morning. All the cowboys went into town, and charged breakfast to the company. Another time dad told the crew that they were going to get steak for supper, and the cook, a different cook stewed every single T-bone. It was not to much longer after that, that cook went to town, got drunk and hung himself. Warrens had several cooks that committed suicide. Oh and almost everyone of them said they were the head cook at the Brown Palace in Denver. Another time dad and his brother stopped at on of the sheep camps for lunch. Dad and Uncle Duane was the only ones there, and the cook sat down to eat. He brushed the dust off the table with his arms, and put the mashed potato's right on the table, stirred in the gravy, grab a loaf of bread placed it under his armpit and tore off the end. That was the last time they ever went into that sheep camp for a meal.

You care to share the recipe for your chili-slaw dog chili?
Get about 2 lbs of ground CAB, and a large onion. I use Vidalia. Chop the onion up real fine, put the beef and onion in an electric skillet, and season with black pepper, garlic powder and Worchestershire sauce, I put a little water in the skillet to help break the beef up real fine. When the meat is brown, I use a strainer to pour off most all the grease. I want a little grease left in the beef. Add 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of chilli powder and a 1/2 cup of Ketchup. Keep about 2 cups of water handy, pour one of them in and bring this to a boil and them let simmer, addding more water from time to time if you need to.

n that regard, pineapple is great on oven baked ham but not on pizza, pepperoni is how pizza is made,
I also like whatever tastes good. I just said that about pizza because a proper Italian would never put pepperoni or pineapple on a pizza. But we do and most of us like it. Reminded me of the chilli debate.

Anybody that uses sugar, ketchup, or canned (anything) beans is ruining good ingredients.

I agree. Speaking of beans, I don't claim to be a good cook, but I recently fixed some beans that I thought turned out pretty good. I sliced some sausage and browned both sides. While that was going on I sauteed a medium sized yellow onion, about half of a Fresno pepper, about half of a poblano pepper, and a couple cloves of garlic. When that was done I poured a can of pinto beans in the pot, added the sausage and a cut up roma tomato, and let it simmer for a while. When I thought it was about right I stirred in a handful of chopped up fresh spinach, turned the fire off, and put the lid on the pot. I let it sit for 5 minutes or so to steam the spinach, and then went and got a bowl and got busy.

Really? And here I thought pepperoni was an Italian thing. I've heard pizza (and spaghetti) originated in China anyways. Seems wrong but who knows? Somebody had to invent everything and I'm sure lots of original sources of invention have traveled over time.

Kinda like you Navy guys do spaghetti huh? I dated this gal in the late 70's whose dad was Navy. He was a cook on the Nimitz. That joker would make spaghetti and put raisins, hot dogs, carrots, peanuts...just a few of things he said he put in it. I never would even try it when he cooked it at their house!
Did you just call a united states marine a "navy guy"..lol

I like chili with beans just fine but don't need the carbs so no more beans in mine
