Raised on pinto beans..never overwhelming..but they did come regularly2:1 burger to bean ratio, I didn't think they were overwhelming.
That's pretty much what the boss said.Looks good to me. If it goes on a hotdog, no beans allowed. If you eat it out of a bowl, beans and tomatoes are required and chickpeas are allowed. Onions and peppers required either way. Use a bbq rub for seasoning in addition to chili powder.

I like it with steak myself too, but I was burning up a bunch of burger. Still have elk and beef I need to eat.To me, real chili only has chunks of beef, no hamburger. My wife insists I add beans to hers though.
