Thank you for your replies! I was also wandering if anyone had any experience using lespedeza?

Well ask me in a few months as I have 100's of pounds of seed setting in the barn just waiting to go in a new hay field.

I'm not on the same end of the state or anything, but I can tell you from experience that kobe/lespedeza will grow in places that other legumes laugh at. It'll grow in poor soil...heck, it might even grow on a rock. :)

It's great in hay as a mix with orchardgrass - horse people seem to like it as it's not as 'hot' as alfalfa...but then again, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Does lespedeza respond well to overseeding? By that I mean broadcasting the seed and then running a shredder over the pasture.

Hulled lespedeza responds to any treatment the same as clover would. Unhulled is pain in the but because it doesn;t get down to the ground as easily.
