I was just offered 50 acres of paster for 50 dollars an acre is this a good price

Depends on the stocking rate, 100 per cow pencils out for us. Here in my area it averages a cow every 2-3 acres.

It depends on the quality of land,water,fence,terrain and distance for you to travel. Unlike what most people outside farming think all land is not equal.

That's probably not to far off. If it's worth it in this cattle market I don't know but people are paying it here in Southeast MO.

I reckon that's half price of buying it on a 30 year note there. That price would sure buy the land here prorated over 30 years.

That close to home with water and decent grass, I would say go for it as long as you can stock it to its potential.

I was inquiring about a place 1/2 hour from home that was newly fenced and crossfenced into 4 parcels. To find out it had 3 (three) strands of barbed wire as the perimeter. I never looked at it but I didn't inquire any further. They said they had 4 cows get out and they never seen them again. It wasn't a situation to invest in for fence.
