Ky Lightning storm last night

Did anyone else see that beautiful lightning display early this morning?
I was driving back about 3:00 a.m. through southern Illinois into Kentucky the lightning was absolutely incredible.

Lots of flooding in western KY. Reported as 10" or more rain overnight.

I love storms that come through in the early hours of the morning. We seem to do well out of them.

I have a dear friend in KY and he said it was a very impressive light show. Said it felt like it would never end.

Last 2 storms that have rolled through northeast Alabama have been light shows for sure . The last one was 2 am this morning. I had my alarm set for 4:30 to drive to Nashville to fly out on a baseball trip with my brother . Don't think I ever went back to sleep . Sitting in Fort Worth getting ready to go to Arlington to see the Rangers and Dodgers . Looking at radar they are about to get more storms back home .

In the area I am in lightning storms usually are not very intense. When I was working on a Fire Lookout part of the job
was to watch closely for down strikes during these rare occasions. Late one afternoon there were some buildups and a
little bit of lightning 5 or 6 miles away, so I thought I should take a closer look with the binoculars. It just took one flash
one time for me to decide watching lightening with binoculars was a bad idea
