A number of the LA vets around here will only work on horses. Seems the horse people pay better then the cow people.
I've always been an advocate of building a relationship with your vets, large and small. I don;t have any data to show that it makes a difference but without exception (barring with vets that I refuse to do business with) we've had service that I feel is frequently above and beyond the call of duty.
