Woke up this morning, realized this 70th anniversary of D-Day. Knew of Longest Day as most accurate account of that day events, never read, OK need to. Attempt to find book, no avail (Barnes & Noble had sold 10 copies last week), Local military base will have commemoration today, but apparently nothing else available. Is program on History channel tonight with basically all fake footage (apparently less than 4 minutes of actual footage from Omaha beach survived/exists) will probably watch anyway. Just think pathetic that today I can watch with 500+ channels anything from Sponge Bob to any reality show imaginable, but one channel runs anything depicting one of the biggest events ever in our world history.
Rant over-when did we get where that famous transgender is more important than events that shaped this world we live in,
and allow us the freedoms that we enjoy ?????

I remembered as well as dad died today in 2002 vet of WWII Mediterranean and Atlantic Campaign's
as well as Korea. Had an Uncle went in D Day + 1 he was one of the lucky ones.
