We have two cows that have become injured since we put our Limousin bull on them. One is a normal size full grown Longhorn and the other cow, an Angus/Brahman cross is bigger than the Longhorn. Neither are first calf heifers.

The bull is about 2,000 pounds.

The Longhorn can barely get around.

We don't know the bull hurt them, but these injuries showed up shortly after turning the bull out.

I would think 2k lbs is too big. My thoughts are it's the bull banging cows around establishing his place in the pecking order.

Depends on the bull. We had a bull weighed 2300 lbs and when he would breed heifers they wouldn;t even sag or take a step forward. The bull we had before him @ 1800 lbs drove everything to the ground includding really big grown cows. It's been said that a gentleman carrys his weight on his elbows. Same applies to bulls except it's their hind legs.
