bama...sounds like you have Pavlov's cows.....

I started using the bell a while back. They used to come up when I started the tractor. That got to be a problem. Evertime I started it they would come up even if I wasn't feeding. I started using the bell. Now I can get in the truck, tractor, 4 wheeler or whatever. As long as the bell don't ring they just stay put.

To move them pasture to pasture or get them in the corral we either call 51 (our lead cow who will follow us off a cliff) and she calls the herd from a truck and they follow or if the truck isn't around I just do it on foot. I call and she comes bringing everyone else with her. We love that cow. We keep all of her daughters and she is teaching them the same thing. They are a well-behaved herd.

I go into the feed shed and they are usually knocking at the door. I stick the bucket out and get out of the way.
