Hi there well my father was always an angus breeder and I thought I would buy a limousin bull to breed some limflex.

He was a donkey. Low fertility/lack of interest and the heifers he did get in calf lots had big calves and calving trouble it wasn't fun.

So my question to put out there. I am joining 11 straight angus heifers. I have four limflex heifers who were born naturally at a good size compared to there sisters and brothers. They are beautiful 11 month old heifers. Do I sen them to market or an I john them for some limflex cows. Will they just be calving trouble?

Short of breeding them and taking a chance after waiting 9 months, the surest way to tell if they sould be able to calve easily enough is to have a pelvic exam done. That will give you a pretty good idea of how large they should be able to have unassisted.
