215 bred heifers averaged $2603.. for commercial heifers in the southeast that is a barn burner.
High selling pen of bred heifers was a pen of SimAngus heifers from Blackbelt Research Center in Alabama at $3550.. :banana:

28 open heifers averaged $1300 top selling pen was $1700.

I would be happy to turn open heifers into breds for an additional $1,303 each !!!
Some sharp penile calculated this spring that you would break even (and not make any profit) by selling commercial calves off a bred heifer you purchased for $2,300...
So are inputs so low that these boys going to be able to make money off of a $2,603 bred heifer???

What value are you giving the cow as a kill cow? Why would you need to break even in one year?? It is an investment..
