Ambien. I just got a call from my mother and one of her friends was on this medication and she sleep walked down to a busy highway and walked right in front of some cars and was killed. Another woman she knows went to the kitchen and cooked eggs and waffles and didn't remember ever cooking them when she found the cluttered kitchen in the morning. Doctor friend told mom these type things are becoming more common.

I wouldn't take that stuff if I'd been awake for a month! Extremily dangerous. I'm so sorry for the woman who was killed. I vote for a lawsute.

No one has ever suggested that I take it. Sleep is the one thing I can do without aid. In fact I want to sleep all the time anyway. When Mom passed away my sister asked me if I needed anything to help me sleep because she had some. I told her no. She takes too many pills. And she's a nurse. I just take an asperine every day for the heart and I also take an anti depressant. The latter is a temporary thing until I can get through settling Dad's house because I was starting to have some real anxiety over going there and just crying uncontrollably. It's helped and I've gotten over the initial side effects, which were a real doozy. I'm just yawning all the time. Doctor said we'd do it for three months and then see where we were on the estate. I don't like taking pills and I seldom get sick. This whole thing has just been more than I can handle with no help from the sibs. I have been reading reports about people sleep walking, sleep driving and sleep eating. No thanks.

Oh, what a shame about that poor lady. And the driver that hit her must be haunted by it.

The pharmacuetical companies are getting out of control. How they get some of this stuff on the market in the first place could probably stand some scrutiny. And I don't think they should be able to mass market direct to the public on TV and in magazines, etc. They can't advertise Jack Daniels or Marlboro on TV, but we have to answer awkward questions from the kiddies when the Cialis and Viagra commercials start running.......??

Whew, rant over, sorry again about the loss of your mothers friend.

Tell me about it. I still maintain that we can never truly have health care reform in this country until we get the pharm lobby under control. No one wants to do that, though, because they have such deep pockets. I haven't got the nerve to walk into my dr's office and tell her what I have and what I want to treat it. No wonder we are a nation of hypochondriacs.

Not to down play her death in anyway but she lived a wonderful blessed life and she is at a better place. Our thoughts and prayers mostly have gone out to the driver cause this person is the one who is going to suffer the most from this accident. IMO
